<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><item href="/campus-directory/directory-profiles/richards-jacob.html" dsn="campus-directory"><id>2480160</id><office-hours/><about-me><p style="font-weight: 400;">Jacob Richards is a Salt Lake City-based drummer, composer, and creative coder who specializes in building systems for performance, using trigger electronics and programming to explore computationally mediated improvisation. He has performed with numerous jazz and pop artists, including Steve Lehman, Drew Gress, Oliver Tree, and David Binney, and has toured in the US and abroad. He also records for television and film, most notably recording drums for the hit NBC series <em>New Amsterdam</em> and the Showtime series <em>Yellowjackets</em>. </p>
<br style="font-weight: 400;"/><span style="font-weight: 400;">Jacob holds an MFA from CalArts in Jazz Studies and earned a BA in Applied Math and Music from UC Berkeley.
