The Westminster University board of trustees is comprised of a group of well-respected, dedicated, and dynamic community leaders. Our board members are volunteers who contribute their time, expertise, and financial resources to promote the continued success of Westminster University.
The board is entrusted with the fiduciary responsibility for the university. In fact, the board is responsible for helping the president and the senior leadership of the university develop, clarify, and fulfill Westminster University's mission and vision. They played an important role in the strategic planning process and provide leadership, accountability, and support.

Chair Preston Chiaro
Retired Executive for Technology & Innovation, Rio Tinto
Preston Chiaro joined the Westminster Board of Trustees in 2011. Mr. Chiaro holds bachelor’s and master’s degree in environmental engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. Upon graduation he worked for environmental engineering consulting firms on projects across the US. He concluded his career with nearly 25 years at Rio Tinto, one of the world’s largest mining companies, where he was responsible for environmental cleanup efforts, but also managed mines and refineries in Argentina, Australia, France, Spain, Namibia, South Africa, and the US.
