Dean's Welcome
Welcome to Westminster University. Whether you’re a currently enrolled student, an alum, or a family member or friend supporting a student, we are glad to have you as a part of our community.
I can attest that Westminster is a very special place. It’s certainly a beautiful campus and our location in the Salt Lake valley is a great launching point for urban and wilderness adventures, but what truly makes Westminster special is the people: the students, staff, faculty, and the families and friends that together form a community of learners that genuinely care about each other and about making a difference in the world.
While you’re here, I encourage you to lean into new experiences:
- Snag a free ticket to a performing arts event
- Enjoy a snack at the University-sponsored tailgate before cheering on one of our athletics teams
- Attend one of the many free lectures featuring world-renowned thought leaders that will challenge you to think differently
As an institution of higher learning, Westminster wants to support and celebrate the growth you’ll experience while here. Maximizing your time at Westminster will require you to take [appropriate] risks, ask for help when needed, and offer help to others when you’re able. My role as the Dean of Students, and the purpose of our office, is to advocate for you and support your success. We can't wait to meet you soon.
Go Griffins!

Resources
Student Care
Navigating the college experience can be one of the most rewarding and challenging times in a student’s life. Westminster has resources to help you when you need it most.
Student Code of Conduct
The Student Code of Conduct is updated annually and contains the institution's standards of behavior designed to uphold our pillars of honesty, reason, and respect.
Title IX
Westminster’s Title IX program is comprehensive and seeks to stop, remedy, and prevent incidents of gender-based discrimination and sexual misconduct. If you or someone you know may be experiencing a Title IX violation, this page will connect you to resources and the reporting form.
Parent and Family Resources
If you are a member of a student’s support network, this page will connect you with monthly correspondence from the dean, as well as other useful campus resources for parents and families.
Institutional Reporting
As mandated by state and federal law, Westminster provides records of annual safety reports.
Dean's Advisory Council
The Dean's Advisory Council (DAC) is a group of student leaders who work with the Dean of Students to create opportunities for strengthening the campus community and tackle issues that impact the student experience. DAC representatives serve as ambassadors for their fellow students, and their perspectives and input are highly valued and appreciated by the dean.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Any currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing is eligible to serve on the DAC. Representatives are asked to attend 1 in-person meeting each month, attend events sponsored by the Dean of Students, and provide occasional input about issues that may impact students.
For questions about the DAC, email Kellie Gerbers (kgerbers@westminsteru.edu).
