About the Horiuchi Internship
Two interns (1 Democratic and 1 Republican) will work closely with the respective Utah state party chairs on political activities relating to upcoming elections. These $2,500 internships with the Utah Republican and Democratic parties are available during most fall and spring semesters.
Interns may work approximately 15 hours per week over the course of 14 weeks and are encouraged to pursue academic credit for the experience. A final reflection paper will be due on the last day of class.
Westminster students with junior or senior standing are eligible to apply. You must also be politically engaged, possess solid communication skills, and demonstrate strong interpersonal competencies.
This internship program was created in memory of Randy Horiuchi by his many friends across the political spectrum to honor Randy’s love of politics, practice of bipartisanship, and fondness for bringing fellow citizens into the political process, as evidenced by his teaching at Westminster University and mentorship of many young people.
