The Gore Giovale Center for Innovative Leadership connects students with community and organizational leaders to offer hands-on learning opportunities and to foster meaningful conversations about leadership.
Students will apply their learning to leadership in a variety of social, community, and professional contexts, developing self-awareness, empathy, inclusion, and the ability to empower others and inspire change. The center is dedicated to preparing students with tangible tools for their future education and career pursuits, deconstructing traditional ideas of leadership to make leadership more accessible and relevant to students, and expanding the reach of holistic leadership opportunities to reach a wider audience and underrepresented communities.

Community Conversations on Leadership
Community Conversations on Leadership is a series of panel discussions with industry and community leaders from multiple sectors. Conversations will focus on challenges facing these sectors and the leadership needed to address them. Students, faculty, staff, and community members are invited to attend.
The center is excited to host another series of panel conversations exploring effective leadership. This academic year, we will explore contemporary issues with a wide range of leaders to help us learn and grow.
Each conversation will include a post-panel Connections Reception to encourage continued dialogue among attendees and to strengthen and grow professional relationships. These events are free, and students, faculty, staff, and community members are invited to attend.
Case Competition
In partnership with the Goff Strategic Leadership Center at the University of Utah, the center facilitates Westminster’s participation in the Inclusion and Business Strategy Case Competition. Student teams compete with one another to solve a business case for a real client. At the competition, the teams present their ideas to a panel of judges, and the team with the best proposal wins. This competition is intended for students to gain experience developing proposals and pitching ideas.
