The Anne Newman Sutton Weeks Poetry Series brings poets and writers to Westminster University for readings and Q&A sessions. These events are open for all to attend and are held on the Westminster campus in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Spring Poetry Workshop 2026
Westminster University offers a small poetry class in spring semester open to both students and campus community members, taught in 2026 by Lance Newman. The course will meet in person on Westminster's campus from 5:30–8:20 p.m. (MT) on Tuesdays, January 20 to May 6, 2026.
To be considered for this free course, please submit three poems in one document with contact information (name, phone, email, address) by December 30, 2025. Preference will be given to community members in and around Salt Lake City, Utah. Participants will be notified by the end of the year.
About the Instructor
Lance Newman is a professor of creative writing and literature at Westminster University. Proverbs of Earth, his full-length poetry collection, was published by Spuyten Duyvil Press in 2025.
