Funding Process
To secure study abroad funding, you'll want to research your options, create a budget, and determine what financing is available. You can get started by following these steps and contact the Office for Global Engagement if you need any support.
Determine Your Budget
Location (England vs. Costa Rica), length of program (summer vs. semester), and type
of program (exchange vs. approved provider) are factors that affect the price of a
program.
2
Research the Real Cost of the Program
Know what is included in a program's price and what is not. Additionally, research
the cost of living in the country where you wish to study abroad.
3
Make a Program Specific Budget
Your budget should include additional expenses such as airfare, food, health insurance,
in-country transportation, cell phone charges, weekend travel, and entertainment.
4
Know About Scholarship and Financial Aid
Confirm whether or not your Westminster scholarships and federal financial aid can
be applied to your program. And, research additional scholarship opportunities well
in advance so you have time to apply.
