Gap Year
We get it. You're ready to leap but which way should you go? After high school, there are so many doors to open that it can be overwhelming!
Do you want an adventure, to serve others with love, learn a foreign language, and explore new lands while also being fully supported and setting yourself up for a head start in college? Join us for an experience you will never regret or forget.
Learn Inside and Outside the Classroom
The world is a big, beautiful classroom waiting for your participation. IPSL participants learn from exploration, volunteer service, struggling with a new language, trying new and different foods and finding their way in a new city and culture. These methods of learning are just as valid as learning within a classroom's four walls.
"Travel far enough, you meet yourself."
– David Mitchell
And, rest assured, with an IPSL program you will not be falling behind! In one semester you can earn anywhere from 6 to 15 semester college credits. Expect to spread your wings, challenge yourself, succeed beyond your wildest dreams, and, most importantly, gain the confidence you need to forge your path in life, wherever that path may lead.
Choose a standard undergraduate program with all the bells and whistles or customize your own to fit your needs. Work with us to choose your own dates and duration, your country, accommodations, courses, service, language study and excursion experiences according to you goals and interests.
IPSL is a small organization that can individualize programs based on your needs and
goals. Because of this we can provide extensive individual support before during and
after the experience.
We can accept any student, at any age and you can fully participate in an immersive
study and volunteer experience and take any of the academic courses and language classes
offered for official credit. You can earn college credit at the 400 level for content
courses and the 100-300 level for language courses and receive an official transcript
from Westminster University (the home of IPSL Global Engagement).
Staying for Tea: Serve with Love and Open your Eyes to the Experiences of Others
There is no better way to connect than to see through the eyes of others. Spending time (as we like to call it "staying for tea") is the basis of relationships and intercultural understanding. You can experience all of this on an IPSL GAP Year program. What better work can we all engage in than "staying for tea"?
What can your smile and a helping hand say about you? IPSL is about reciprocity, humility and compassion. We never purport to know what is best for others, nor what others want or need. We can only strive to approach volunteer service with ethical awareness and openness.
There is value in taking the time to explore and open your eyes to something completely new. That's where the IPSL GAP Year programs come in.
