SALT LAKE CITY– Westminster University professor and director of Westminster's Great Salt Lake Institute, Dr. Bonnie Baxter, was featured in a Newsweek article about the relationship between the construction of data centers and shrinking lakes in the American West. Dr. Baxter warned of the effects of a dry Great Salt Lake, stating, "A dry Great Salt Lake could be devastating for the northern Utah community as 2.5 million people live downwind, and a dry lake bed can become a dust producer."
