SALT LAKE CITY–Westminster University president, Dr. Sylvia Torti, published an essay titled "The Once and Future Lake," in an anthology of the same name by Torrey House Press. The Utah Review covered this publication, calling it an "...essential primer with 360-degree perspective on Great Salt Lake's existential crisis." Dr. Torti is one of 36 authors who contributed to this anthology, ranging in their professions from scientists, poets, journalists, and more. Together, they offer readers multiple perspectives on the current state of the lake, without leaving readers feeling overwhelmed.
In her essay, Dr. Torti mentions the involvement of young people in the fight to save the lake, stating, “This year, there’s more determined conversation about the connections between the lake, its ecology and our environmental health. The young people are paying attention. They’re getting involved.”
