About
Oliver Anderson (he/him) became the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and
Dean of Students in July 2026. During his 11 years at Westminster, Oliver served as
Assistant Dean of Students, Director of Student Involvement and Orientation, and Director
of Student Development and Training. He has provided vision and leadership in developing
programs that support student success and development including new student orientation,
residential student curriculum, and leadership development.
Oliver enjoys collaborating across units to make the student experience at Westminster
truly exceptional. He is energized by working with Westminster professionals to problem
solve and maximize resources to remove barriers to student success. As AVP and Dean
of Students, Oliver will be responsible for providing leadership and support to all
areas of Student Affairs. He will directly supervise two assistant dean of students,
as well as the director of Campus Security. Oliver will directly advise the Student
Body President of the Associated Students at Westminster (ASW). Oliver’s office is
located in the Student Affairs suite in Shaw Student Center.
Oliver completed a dual major in Sociology and Human Development at the University
of Utah (B.A., 2015). He went on to study Educational Leadership and Policy, with
an emphasis in Student Affairs, receiving a master's degree from University of Utah
in 2018. Oliver has held numerous leadership roles in national and state associations
including National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA); Association
for Orientation, Transition, and Retention in Higher Education (NODA), and Utah Professionals
in Student Involvement and Leadership (UPSIL).
