About

Kevin grew up in the northeast and attended university at Middlebury College in Vermont, where he studied Spanish and Economics, played college football, and enjoyed skiing, hiking, and exploring the Green Mountains. After college, he moved to Spain for a year to become fluent in Spanish, and then got a job at a small school in Colorado teaching Spanish, directing outdoor programming and guiding wilderness and international trips. He’s been lucky to guide students through the alpine of Colorado, the deserts of Utah, Texas and Mexico, the jungles of Colombia and Ecuador, and the mountains of Patagonia.

Kevin moved to SLC in 2024 and after a year of working full-time as a ski patroller and mountaineering instructor, he wound up at Westminster! He continues to love connecting students to the outdoors, and knows, like Luther Standing Bear of the Lakota, that "a [hu]man's heart, away from nature, becomes hard; [that a] lack of respect for growing, living things soon leads to a lack of respect for humans, too.” Kevin is quite content to work in the Outdoor Program, mentoring students in different outdoor skills and activities, as well as cultivating his own relationship with the earth, whether skiing, backpacking, bowhunting, paddling, biking, climbing, or just being.
