About

I am interested in how nervous systems act to produce the behaviors that we see around us every day. How do the neuronal circuits that allow a caterpillar to walk change to produce flight in a butterfly? How do nervous systems work to allow animals to progress through a series of complex behaviors towards a goal? I teach a variety of Neuroscience courses, including Introduction to Brain and Behavior, Behavioral Neuroscience, and Behavioral Endocrinology. When I'm not doing that, you can usually find me in the lab with students trying to unravel the neuronal circuitry responsible for reproductive behavior in leeches.
