About
Sheila Rappazzo Yorkin is the Chief Marketing Officer for Westminster University.
Throughout Sheila’s career in Utah, she has worked in higher education, economic development,
event management, and marketing and communication. These experiences have contributed
to making Salt Lake City and Utah a more prosperous and welcoming environment for
all who live here.
Sheila is in her twelfth year at Westminster University leading a dynamic team of
talented marketing, communication, web, design, and events professionals. Previously,
Sheila worked at Economic Development Corporation of Utah as the Executive Director
of Marketing and promoting corporate recruitment and expansion in the State of Utah.
Sheila spent the first part of her career with Salt Lake City Corporation in communication
and policy roles and was the Director of the Gallivan Utah Center during the 2002
Olympics. Sheila is passionate about the inclusivity of women in education, business,
and the community.
Sheila has served on many non-profit and community boards and executive committees
including the Utah Children's Museum, Utah Rivers Council, Visit Salt Lake, and Salt
Lake Acting Company. Ms. Yorkin held the role of President of the Utah Women's Forum
in 2018.
Ms. Yorkin has been recognized by Utah Business Magazine “30 Women to Watch”, “Top
50 Women Leaders of Utah”, and “Women We Admire in Utah.”
Sheila hails from the east coast, having grown up in Poughkeepsie, New York and Boca
Raton, Florida. Her studies in political science at the University of Richmond prepared
her for an intended career in Washington D.C. as a lobbyist and policy maker. A post-college
stint in Jackson Hole, Wyoming turned her into a mountain-loving westerner, and she
has been in Utah for the last 25 plus years. Sheila enjoys summer vacations with her
family in Maine . She and her husband Andy live in Millcreek and share three children
and a Tibetan dog named Dalai. They love skiing, biking, golfing, and enjoying all
that Utah has to offer.
