SALT LAKE CITY–Westminster University's Lance Newman, Sheila Yorkin, and Christopher LeCluyse shared their thoughts with Utah Business on how adaptability can prepare students to succeed in the age of AI. The article emphasizes the role a college education, specifically the humanities, plays in building durable skills like communication and critical thinking. As Newman, Westminster's interim provost, put it, "We need to train our brains in the same way that AI models get trained, which is through information and knowledge. If we skip that step, then we don't have the human intelligence to be able to evaluate the work that AI produces."
