About
As Dean of the Honors College and the Kim T. Adamson Chair, Dr. Alicia Cunningham-Bryant is an award-winning teacher dedicated to empowering students through a student-centered approach. Her leadership, rooted in fostering critical thinking and interdisciplinary dialogue, ensures students explore complex issues and thrive. She recently served as the visionary Director of Westminster's nationally recognized Office for Fellowship Advising, showcasing her strategic ability to build high-impact programs.
Alicia holds a PhD in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations from Yale and a BA from UC San Diego. Her extensive background includes work as an archivist and curator at museums in Philadelphia and New Haven, alongside archaeological fieldwork in Egypt and Jordan. These experiences, coupled with her wide-ranging research interests spanning public history to ancient religions, enrich her teaching, where she creates courses that bridge the ancient and modern.
A member of the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) with published research, Alicia cultivates an impactful, collaborative learning environment. Outside of her academic pursuits, Alicia is always open to new adventures—whether hiking with her dogs, traveling, or discovering hidden gems.
