About
Violinist David Langr, a Master's Degree graduate of the Manhattan School of Music,
has held many orchestral and chamber music positions prior to joining the Utah Symphony
Orchestra in 2002. He has been Concertmaster of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, the Denver
Chamber Orchestra, the West Virginia Symphony, the Ohio Valley Symphony, and Principal
Second Violin of the New Hampshire Music Festival Orchestra. David has been a frequent
performer on the Nova Chamber Music Series, and has been a member of the Montclaire,
Friemann, and Ravel String Quartets. He has also performed as a resident artist with
the Rockport Chamber Music Festival, the Charles Ives Center for American Music, and
has been heard on National Public Radio in the world premiere performance of "Serenade
for Two Violins and Piano" by Enrique Granados. As a soloist he has appeared with
the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra, the West Virginia Symphony,
the Ohio Valley Symphony, the Seneca Chamber Orchestra, the New River Valley Symphony,
and the Vivaldi Virtuoso Orchestra. David was Music Director of the West Virginia
Youth Symphony for four years, currently is conductor of the Wasatch Mountain Camerata,
and is a frequent guest conductor with the Utah Youth Orchestra Ensembles.
