Bookstore Transition

Westminster University has partnered with one of the nation’s largest college bookstore operators, Barnes & Noble College (BNC), for our school’s official online bookstore. They currently serve the needs of over 6 million students nationwide. BNC Virtual was developed to help institutions like Westminster improve textbook services with a school-branded, course-driven website.

The current bookstore, managed by Follett, will transition to BNC for the Spring 2025 semester. The new online bookstore will be the source for course materials going forward and opens for student orders on Dec. 16, 2024.

What Faculty Need to Know

You'll make your course selections for Spring 2025 in the new Barnes & Noble Online Bookstore Adoptions Insight Portal (AIP) Nov. 11–22, 2024.

Learning How to Use the AIP

Instructions for Logging In

Adoptions are section-specific, but you can auto-apply the same adoptions to all sections.

For a team-taught course, both instructors will see the course in the AIP and be able to add materials to it. You will be able to see what the other instructor entered in addition to your own entries.

Watch the Training Recording

Courses without Materials

The AIP will automatically notify you via email if your courses are missing adopted materials. Even if your course won’t require course materials, it’s important to indicate that in the portal so students know they aren't missing anything and will be ready for Spring Semester. The AIP will automatically notify students of any changes.

Last-Minute Changes

You can update your textbook adoptions in real time and students will be automatically notified of any changes. However, course materials should be entered by Nov. 22, 2024, to ensure students are ready for Spring Semester.

Ongoing Support

  • Contact bookstore@westminsteru.edu for assistance with unresolved inquiries or if BNC can't get a necessary item or course material.
  • Each school has a designated staff member to support faculty with the AIP. Contact your school's front office staff member for assistance:
