Spanish-Latin American Studies Program Plan of Study

In introductory Spanish classes, you will learn the basic structures of grammar and gain the foundations of written and oral proficiency. Students that enter the program with an advanced knowledge of the language can test out of these requirements.

In upper-division courses, you will work with literary works from different Spanish-speaking countries and examine their respective cultures. You will also investigate the anthropological, historical, or social component in Hispanic and Latin American culture to develop a senior project–a thesis or internship.

Westminster also offers a minor in Spanish that consists of a minimum of 20 credit hours in Spanish coursework. A minor in Spanish can complement your major area of study by providing you with various career choices or plans for advanced studies.
