The Sports Management Program at Westminster University
Through flexible, creative learning, students develop effective leadership, management, and administrative skills specific to the sports industry. You’ll explore the culture and structure of sports organizations, study industry best practices, and learn to communicate clearly and professionally in classes from a broad range of fields, including data science, business, management, and marketing. Throughout the program, you’ll have opportunities to customize your degree through electives and for-credit internships with local sports organizations.
The Sports Management program offers small classes taught by faculty with expertise in sports management, collegiate athletics, and NCAA compliance. Classes include expert lectures, analysis assignments, and hands-on projects. You’ll be able to choose from 2 areas of concentration—business and athletics—to create a degree that works best for your personal career goals. And, there are opportunities to get involved in the Westminster community to make the most of your sports management education.

Sports Management Program Plan of Study
You'll start by taking introductory-level courses in business, data science, and sports management. As you move through the program, you'll take classes including Data and Society, Principles of Marketing, Business Finance, Principles of Management, and Managerial Accounting. To personalize your degree, you'll choose from a wide variety of electives, participate in an internship with an organization you're passionate about, and choose an area of concentration in either business or athletics.
The program can also be taken as a minor, which is a great addition to a degree in marketing, accounting, or management.
