  • Parent and Child Aquatics: Ages 6 months to 3 years
  • Preschool Aquatics: Ages 4 and 5
  • Learn to Swim: Ages 6 and older

Register for Swim Lessons

Spring Session Monday Evening: 

  • Dates: January 27—March 24 (no class on Monday, March 17 due to Westminster spring break)
  • Fee: $48 for the 8 week session
6:00 p.m. Parent and Child Aquatic Class
6:30 p.m. Preschool Aquatics Level 1
7:00 p.m.  Preschool Aquatics Level 2
7:30 p.m. Preschool Aquatics Level 3

Spring Session Wednesday Evenings:

  • Dates: January 29–March 26 (no class on March 19 due to Westminster spring break)

  • Fee: $48 for the 8 week session
6:00 p.m. Learn to Swim Level 1
6:30 p.m. Learn to Swim Level 2
7:00 p.m. Learn to Swim Level 3
7:30 p.m. Learn to Swim Level 4
8:00 p.m. Learn to Swim Level 5/6

Swim Levels

In this level, children get familiar with the water and learn swimming readiness skills. Parents receive safety information and learn techniques to acclimate their children to the water.

There are no skill prerequisites to register for this level. Children must be at least 6 months old. A parent must accompany their child to every class.

In this level, children get familiar with the aquatic environment and acquire basic aquatic skills. They also begin to develop positive attitudes and safe practices in and around water.

There are no skill prerequisites to register for this level. Children should be approximately 4 or 5 years old.

In this level, children build on and improve skills learned in Preschool Aquatics Level 1. They increase their knowledge of water safety topics introduced in Preschool Aquatics Level 1.

To register for this level, the child must successfully demonstrate skills in the Preschool Aquatics Level 1 exit skills assessment.

In this level, children increase their proficiency and build on the basic aquatic skills learned in Preschool Aquatics Levels 1 and 2. Instructors reinforce water safety concepts and skills introduced in earlier levels and introduce additional water safety topics.

To register for this level, the child must successfully demonstrate skills in the Preschool Aquatics Level 2 exit skills assessment.

In this level, children get familiar with the aquatic environment and gain basic aquatic skills. They begin to develop positive attitudes and safe practices around water.

There are no skill prerequisites to register for this level. Children must be about 6 years of age.

In this level, children build on the basic aquatic skills and water safety skills and concepts learned in Learn-to-Swim Level 1.

To register for this level, the child must successfully demonstrate skills in the Learn-to-Swim Level 1 exit skills assessment.

In this level, children build on the skills learned in levels 1 and 2 and achieve basic water competency in a pool environment.

To register for this level, the child must successfully demonstrate skills in the Learn-to-Swim Level 2 exit skills assessment.

In this level, children improve their proficiency in performing the swimming strokes that were introduced in Learn-to-Swim Level 3.

To register for this level, the child must successfully demonstrate skills in the Learn-to-Swim Level 4 exit skills assessment.

In this level, children refine their performance of all six swimming strokes: front crawl, back crawl, butterfly, breaststroke, elementary backstroke, and sidestroke.

To register for this level, the child must successfully demonstrate skills in the Learn-to-Swim Level 4 exit skills assessment.

In this level, children refine their strokes so they can swim with greater efficiency and effectiveness over longer distances.

To register for this level, the child must successfully demonstrate skills in the Learn-to-Swim Level 5 exit skills assessment.

Private and Semi-Private Lessons for Children and Adults

Schedule your own private swim lesson with an instructor or with a group of friends for a semi-private lesson. At this time we have no instructors available for additional private or semi-private swim lessons. Please email Traci Siriprathane (tsiriprathane@westminsteru.edu) to be added to the wait list in case any instructors become available.

Private swim lesson rates: $15 for 30 minutes

Semi-private swim lesson rates: $12.00 per person for 30 minutes (semi-private lessons must be 2 or more children or adults close to the same level)
