Bike Collective
The Bike Collective grew out of a desire from Westminster students to minimize campus traffic and reduce their carbon emissions. The collective believes that cycling connects people to one another and seeks to promote environmental and individual health.
Contact the Environmental Center (environmentalcenter@westminsteru.edu) with any questions.
Location: Follow the path (marked with a bike collective sign) across the North Parking Structure entrance on 1200 East.
The Bike Collective has a full bike shop and an expert mechanic on staff. If you need help fixing your bike, set up a free appointment. This is a great way to get your bike back on the road and learn some repair skills while you’re at it. To secure your spot, fill out the appointment request form.
Long-Term Bike Rental
The Bike Collective offers a limited number of long-term bike rentals. The rental term length is one month with the option to renew for many months. If you’re interested in renting a bike, fill out the Long-Term Bike Rental Application Form. Email (environmentalcenter@westminsteru.edu) or stop by the Environmental Center if you have any questions about the program.
Bike Routes and Safety Resources
Many people want to make biking a part of their transportation mix but are worried about road safety and where to ride or have questions about which roads have bike lanes, what the rules of the road are, how you can make sure cars see you, and how to know if your helmet fits properly. The City of Salt Lake has an online resource that answers these questions and many more, including providing details about local bike routes.
