January 6, 2022

Welcome back, Griffins! Thank you for your commitment to keeping Westminster’s campus a safe and healthy community. Because of the Omicron surge, we are taking a few critical safety measures until January 24. As we get closer to January 24, we will reassess things and provide updated information on practices to keep campus as safe and comfortable as possible.

  • Shaw Dining Hall will remain open but the tables are more spaced out now. Masks are required in the dining hall whenever you are not in the act of eating or drinking. Food will be served in to-go boxes so  you have greater choice over where to enjoy your meal.
  • We are asking you to help the community stick to the rules. If you see someone not respecting mask requirements or you feel uncomfortable about your own safety, please let us know by completing an online incident report.
  • For the first two weeks of the semester food and drink are only allowed in the Shaw Student Center dining area and the Basis coffee shop area. This means no eating or drinking in the library or classrooms. Restricting where we eat and drink will help people stick to wearing masks and reduce opportunities for infection.
  • Masks must be worn inside campus buildings and in residence hall common areas the first two weeks of the semester. Encourage each other to follow this requirement. Students who fail to follow this requirement will be reported to Student Conduct and fined $25.
