About
Sally Humphreys, flute instructor, enjoys the variety of a free-lance musical career. She plays flute and piccolo with the Ballet West Orchestra, appears regularly with the Utah Symphony, and is a member of the woodwind quintet Aspen Winds. A native of Cincinnati, she graduated from Indiana University with the Bachelor of Music degree, and attended the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music for graduate work. Sally played piccolo with the Hartford Symphony for 8 seasons, taught at the University of Connecticut, and performed in chamber groups throughout New England. She has also played with the Colorado Philharmonic, Lake George Opera Company, New Sousa Band, Cincinnati Symphony, the Moab Music Festival, and with the Salt Lake City chamber music organizations Intermezzo and NOVA. Sally is President of the Utah Flute Association and is the local arrangements chair for the National Flute Association, which involves assisting the NFA as they bring their annual convention to Salt Lake City in 2019. Sally has also embarked on a new challenge, teaching yoga and meditation. She earned her 200-hour teaching certificate in 2017, and has established a yoga studio in her home and in partnership with Elemental Balance Pilates Studio.
