Nursing school can be a stressful experience, but it doesn’t have to feel overwhelming or lonely. Student Nurses of Westminster (SNOW) is a club for current and aspiring nursing students that facilitates connection-building in healthcare. Joining SNOW is a great way to be involved with the Westminster community and your nursing peers. As a resource designed especially for students, SNOW is always evolving to meet the needs of current and future nursing students.
Benefits of the Student Nurses of Westminster
Having a club for students run by students who have experienced the ups and downs of nursing school allows for more support for future nurses. SNOW also provides a way to create better relationships with peers and faculty and get future nurses involved in the Salt Lake City community through local events.
How to Join the Student Nurses of Westminster
Westminster students can join by contacting the SNOW student board or lead nursing faculty members, Cristina Monge and Cindy Thomas. There is a $5 membership fee, however, no applications are needed to participate in SNOW.
There is an annual election for students interested in becoming a SNOW board member. SNOW Board members help to create a community for nursing students by organizing events with speakers, mentoring students in their transition into nursing school, building community outreach, and increasing communication between nursing students and the Westminster student body.
